Premier League: Red Hot Devils To Pick On the Cherries

Manchester United vs AFC Bournemouth

A resurgent Manchester United squad will continue to further boost their chances at a Champions League spot as they host AFC Bournemouth for this Saturday’s Premier League match.

The recent Premier League 2020 odds for the Red Devils to do so have been optimistic especially since Chelsea lost in an upset versus West Ham United last night to where goals where scored left and right.

The gap between Manchester United and Chelsea have narrowed significantly because of the said result as they now have 52 and 54 points respectively – good for the fifth and fourth spots at the Premier League table.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men have been in superb form ever since the start of the year and his boys are ready to roll against their relegation-threatened visitors.

AFC Bournemouth, on the other hand, are in quite a dire situation right now. They are second to the last with only 27 points and they are praying fervently for survival in the English top-flight.

The stakes are high particularly for the Cherries in this match as they will try to churn out some favourable Premier League 2020 results in the next few matchdays.

For today, allow SBOBET to give you a preview for this upcoming fixture.

Talking Points

Man Utd basking in great form lately

It is refreshing to see that United have maintained their superb form as they remain undefeated in all competitions since losing to champions-elect Liverpool in mid-January.

Since the project restart, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have won three of their last four, and those victories came in high scoring fashion.

A huge part of United’s success is their improved chemistry. Paul Pogba, who was hampered by injuries pretty much the whole season, has been developing a fascinating midfield partnership with Bruno Fernandes – who has been quite influential on that end for the team.

Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood have had a hand in a couple of goals for United too, scoring four of their last eight, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire have been taking care of the backline.

Perhaps the mandated coronavirus break was a blessing in disguise for the Red Devils in terms of overall fitness. For a time, Marcus Rashford was dealing with a back problem while ace goalkeeper David De Gea looked fatigued in some matches.

For this upcoming match they will field in a much more complete roster. Only fringe players such as Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe are considered as doubts as they deal with minor injuries of their own.

Bournemouth slowly approaching doomsday

A lot has changed ever since the Cherries defeated the Red Devils back in November in their reverse fixture.

If I remember that game well, it was Josh King who delivered the knockout blow in the 45th minute, sending United down all the way to the 10th spot at the table with only 13 points.

But since then, that win preceded a five-match losing streak for Eddie Howe’s side and they haven’t recovered since as they are now in a relegation battle.

The Cherries are winless since the restart after being swept aside by Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Newcastle United. All in all, they have yet to grab their first victory since the start of February.

Unlike United, Eddie Howe’s luck with player availability isn’t looking too good.

Their top scorer in Callum Wilson will be serving his two-game suspension while Josh King is dealing with an ankle concern. Meanwhile, left-back Charlie Daniels is still expected to be out too because of the knee injury he sustained last year.

With this game to be played at Old Trafford, it will be hard to envision the same result back in November due to their horrid away form.

History

Matches between these two clubs have only come few and far between as they’ve played each other in only 17 times.

Manchester United hold the upper hand in the head-to-heads with 11 wins while Bournemouth won only twice along with four draws.

The Cherries’ recent win over the Red Devils was their first victory against them since 1989.

Betting Tip

??
Manchester United vs AFC Bournemouth Manchester United Asian Handicap -2.00 @ 1.86
July 04, 22:00 (GMT+8)

Manchester United are the big favourites in this matchup as they are priced at 1.16, while Bournemouth are at 12.50 and chances of a draw are at 7.60 in the latest readings in the 1×2 market.

United have grown increasingly dangerous since the arrival of Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo and they were not featured in the reverse fixture last time.

The visitors, meanwhile, have been in miserable form and their injury list doesn’t help either. A good result against Newcastle United this week could help Eddie Howe’s boys, but to expect a positive result at Old Trafford few days later may be too much of a stretch.
