K-League: Sangju Sangmu Aim to Keep It Rolling at Home Versus Daegu

Sangju Sangmu vs Daegu FC

If you are looking for some football action over at the Asia region, then this match is for you.

Check out the K-League programme this weekend as the fixture between Sangju Sangmu and Daegu FC will be the one to look out for, given that both of these teams have had a great season so far.

These two proud clubs are in the league’s upper echelon as they are currently placed at third and fifth respectively.

Sangju Sangmu continue to surprise everyone with their strong campaign. The military men have 21 points and they only trail by five points behind the league leaders in Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.

Meanwhile, Daegu FC are not far behind with 19 points. Like their adversary this weekend, the Sky Blues are punching above their weight with their intriguing mix of young guns and veteran players.

So this figures to be an exciting clash just in time for the weekend given how these two fared in recent matchups and SBOBET football fans should definitely mark this to their respective calendars.

Today, we give you the preview of this much-awaited match.

Talking Points

Sangju Sangmu looking to bounce back

Sangju Sangmu are brimming in confidence as of the moment especially with their recent string of favourable K-League 2020 results.

They have yet to lose in five consecutive matches as their defence continues to make life hard for their opponents. Kim Tae-wan’s men have only conceded one goal in the said time period.

One of their victims was the defending champions in Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, in what was one of the shocking upsets so far this season.

The said match was a grind all throughout up until Kang Sang-Uh scored the only goal of the match during the 77th minute. It didn’t help either for Jeonbuk when they were reduced to only 10 men late as Kim Jin-su was kicked out of the game due to a red card.

But days after their statement win, the military men had a fork on the road as they weren’t able to close out Incheon United on the road.

It looked like the military men had this game in the bag when Oh See-hoon scored a goal and Incheon United were reduced to only nine men in just a span of 15 minutes.

But despite the game tilting toward their favour, Sangju Sangmu conceded a late goal from Ji Eon-hak during added time.

It was a bitter pill to swallow for Kim Tae-wan’s men especially since a victory could have them inch closer to Ulsan and Jeonbuk, but they will have a chance to do so against Daegu this weekend.

Daegu FC have a growing injury list

Like Sangju Sangmu, Daegu FC have been hitting their stride as of late although they recently lost against a championship contender in Ulsan Hyundai.

But other than their recent loss, what is more concerning if you are team boss Lee Byunggeun is the injury woes from their key players.

Their centre-back in Hong Jeong-woon remains out due to an ACL injury, while Hwang Soon-min and Kim Woo-seok were doubtful due to unspecified injuries. On the other hand, Cesinha’s attacking mate in Edgar is dealing with an Achilles concern of his own.

With Daegu’s player rotation lacking options as of the moment, their other players would need to step up to maintain their pace this season.

I’m looking at Dejan Damjanovic, Shin Chang-moo, and Kim Jae-woo to try and fill in the void, while the likes of Bjorn Johnsen and Kim Dong-jin have a chance to prove themselves in the starting XI.

History

The hosts and the visitors have locked horns in 28 matches so far.

Daegu FC own the upper hand in their overall head-to-heads as they have won in 14 matches while Sangju Sangmu won only five times along with nine draws.

Two of those draws came in their two previous encounters, as both ended with a 1-1 tally with Cesinha, Edgar, Yong-Ji Park, and Seung-Min Song being the central figures in those contests.

Goals aren’t that much whenever these two meet as they’ve averaged only 2.2 goals per fixture.

Betting Tip

??
Sangju Sangmu vs Daegu FC Under 2.25 @ 1.96
July 18, 18:00 (GMT+8)

A quick look at the latest K-League 2020 odds will tell you that Daegu FC are the favourites to win. The visitors are priced at 2.32 while the home team are priced at 3.00 and chances of a draw are at 3.15 in the 1×2 market.

You might want to put your bets on -0.25 @ 2.02 in the Asian Handicap, and that’s considered as a good alternative as well.

But for my recommendation, my safe bet would be Under 2.50 goals @ 1.75 as recent history suggests.

Games between these two are always close since they are evenly matched on paper, and I’m expect it to be the same this upcoming Saturday.

A SHORT EXPLANATION ON HOW OUR (??) BETS ARE WORTH:
?? = €20 (Highly confident) ?? = €10 (CONFIDENT) ?? = €5 (SOMEWHAT CONFIDENT)
