NBA: Cavaliers and Celtics Out to Further Solidify Contender Status

The Cavaliers boast the best record in the NBA at 51-10. The Kenny Atkinson-mentored squad is on an 11-game winning streak, and they’re keen to make it 12 straight when they host the Heat at the Rocket Arena tomorrow. On the other hand, the second-seeded Celtics aim to build a new winning streak to try to catch up with the Cavaliers, and they have an intriguing home matchup against the improving Blazers.

In addition to these two matches, the Hornets, Wizards, Bucks, Nuggets, Grizzlies, and Clippers will host the Timberwolves, Jazz, Mavericks, Kings, Thunder, and Pistons.

We’re slowly approaching the postseason, so every result counts for all 30 teams in the league. Some fight to make it, while others are merely jockeying for a favourable position in the standings. Check out the top three games in the Association tomorrow, courtesy of today’s SBOTOP preview.

Portland Trail Blazers @ Boston Celtics

The Blazers are suddenly in the play-in mix, as they’ve won five of their last six games. They recently secured a 119-102 win over the Sixers last Monday.

Anfernee Simons led with 34 points, including 21 in the second half, to help his team pull away. He also had four rebounds, three assists, two steals, and six three-pointers on 13-for-26 shooting from the field. Shaedon Sharpe, Donovan Clingan, Duop Reath, and Toumani Camara added 20, 13, 13, and 11 points.

Toumani Camara was recently named Western Conference Defensive Player of the Month for February, as he was the only player in the entire NBA to record at least 80 rebounds, 20 steals, and 10 blocks last month. However, he will have his hands full against Boston.

Jaylen Brown will lead the Boston Celtics in their upcoming NBA game against the Portland Trail Blazers

The Celtics ended their two-game slide with a timely home win against the Nuggets last Sunday, as they withstood Nikola Jokic’s huge performance. Jaylen Brown had 22 points, five rebounds, eight assists, two steals, and two blocks on 6-for-15 shooting from the field to lead Boston. Al Horford, Derrick White, Jayson Tatum, and Payton Pritchard added 19, 17, 16, and 11 points.

Head coach Joe Mazzulla has left the door open for Jrue Holiday (finger) and Kristaps Porzingis (illness) to return to the lineup, boosting their NBA 2025 odds to win tomorrow’s match.

Betting tip – Boston Celtics Asian Handicap -11.00 @ 2.01

Miami Heat @ Cleveland Cavaliers

The Heat have won three of their last four matches, but they will find it difficult to topple the Cavaliers, who are 28-4 at home this season.

Miami secured a 106-90 win over the NBA-worst Washington last Monday, as Bam Adebayo became the all-time double-double leader in franchise history (222 double-doubles, surpassing Rony Seikaly). The three-time NBA All-Star had 19 points, 15 rebounds, five assists, and two steals on 7-for-16 shooting from the field. Duncan Robinson, Tyler Herro, Pelle Larsson, and Terry Rozier added 17, 16, 16, and 15 points.

Cleveland continued to prove why they’re among the East’s elite with a 139-117 win over Chicago. Seven Cavaliers scored double-digit points, with Donovan Mitchell being the team’s top scorer with 28 points, seven rebounds, and five assists on 7-for-17 shooting from the field and 13-for-14 from the charity stripe. Jarrett Allen, Darius Garland, Ty Jerome, Max Strus, Sam Merrill, and Javonte Green added 25, 19, 16, 11, 11, and 11 points.

What’s impressive about the Cavaliers’ winning run is that they had to rally from double-digit deficits in their past three matches to keep their streak alive. They trailed 25-3 at Boston last Friday, rallied from 18 points down to beat Portland in overtime last Sunday, and erased a 15-point deficit against Chicago.

Betting tip – Cleveland Cavaliers Asian Handicap -11.00 @ 1.95

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Memphis Grizzlies

Oklahoma City has scored at least 135 points in their last three games. In their most recent victory over Houston, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander recorded his fourth 50-point game of the season with 51 points, five rebounds, seven assists, and five three-pointers on 18-for-30 shooting from the field and a flawless 10-for-10 from the charity stripe.

The Grizzlies are on a poor stretch of NBA 2025 results, and their losses have been decided by two points or less. They conceded an OG Anunoby late three-point shot, a De’Aaron Fox clutch jumper, and Caris LeVert’s game-winning fastbreak layup in the past four days.

It doesn’t help Memphis that their stars Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. are injured, with the latter expected to be out for a while due to a sprained ankle.

Betting tip – Oklahoma City Thunder Asian Handicap -8.50 @ 2.06
